Technology & Combat Characteristics

The Rozen Zulu is based on the concept of the experimental mobile suit AMX-103 Hamma Hamma and was designed as an Anti-Psycommu warfare mobile suit. Similar to the Hamma Hamma, both of the Rozen Zulu's arms contain wire-guided weapons that function as INCOMs, the claws of the mobile suit are also part of the INCOMs and could be used as a melee weapon. To fulfill its anti-psycommu role, the suit is equipped with new petal-shaped remote control devices, the "Psyco Jammer", which disrupts the connection and function of enemyPsycommu-guided weapons. For defensive purposes, it carries a shield which has three built in mega particle cannons and an I-Field generator. This shield is later replaced by the wired shield unit that is mounted on the right arm to replace the destroyed arm-mounted INCOM. The Rozen Zulu is actually a heavily modified AMS-129 Geara Zulu using spare parts of theMSN-06S Sinanju. As a result, the suit has the psycoframe installed around the cockpit but as it is not intended forNewtype use, the suit is also incorporated with quasi-psycommu system so that normal pilots can control the arm-mounted INCOMs effectively.

Armaments

  • INCOM
  • Screenshot693o
Mounted in the forearms, the pair of wire-guided devices is the main weaponry of the Rozen Zulu and each is equipped with triple mega particle cannons of adjustable output as well as three claws that can be used to pierce enemy units. Controlled by the quasi-psycommu system, each INCOM also has three relay INCOMs, thinner disc-shaped objects, that are used to help the main INCOM change direction during attacks.
  • Mega Beam Shield
The Rozen Zulu could be equipped with an optional shield to increase it defense. However unlike most other shields, the Rozen Zulu's mounts an independent power generator which is used to power the shield's mega particle cannons.
  • Mega Particle Cannon
  • Screenshot666a
Three mega particle cannons are mounted in the mega beam shield around the central I-Field Generator.
  • I-Field Generator
Besides improving the shield's defensive capabilities against beam weaponry, the I-Field generated can also be used to scatter the beams fired from the three mega particle cannons, increasing the attack area or to deflect the beams so that they can hit enemy units in other directions.
  • Wired Shield Unit
After the suit lost its right arm-mounted INCOMs, the wired shield unit is attached to the right arm as a replacement. Like the mega beam shield that is removed, the wired shield unit is equipped with three mega particle cannon and an I-Field generator.

  • Special Equipment & Features

    • Psyco Jammer
A unique feature of the Rozen Zulu which disrupts the connection and function of enemy Psycommu-guided weapons. Six psyco jammers are stored in the two back containers and resemble rose buds that can expand to jam psycowaves. They function similarly to bits/funnels, except they are not equipped with offensive weaponry. However, they can generate an octahedral Psyco-Field around enemy units for capture/jamming purposes much like the Nu Gundam's Fin Funnel Barrier. It was particularly effective against the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, a full-psyco-frame machine, and was used to inhibit the activation of its NT-D System.
    • Quasi-Psycommu System
To effectively control the forearm mounted INCOM, the Rozen Zulu has a Quasi-Psycommu System, which utilizes a mix of remote-control and computer-guidance systems to help remote weapons act like they're controlled by an actual Psycommu System.
    • External Propellant Tank
Mounted on the back, the pair of tanks increase the amount of fuel the suit can carry, thus increasing its operational flight time. When the fuel is depleted, the tanks can be ejected to decrease mass.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

After the AGE-2 Gundam AGE-2 Normal was heavily damaged by Sid, the Earth Federation salvaged both the AGE SystemCore and the AGE Device, while Bisidian members took the remains of the mobile suit, and its pilot, Asemu Asuno [1]. The said scrap parts were taken to the Madorna Workshop to be repaired, but Asemu decided to hide his identity and became a permanent member of Bisidian. He chose to have the mobile suit reworked to hide the fact that he was still alive and the result was the creation of Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound.
The Dark Hound shared the same specifications as its predecessor, with the exception of the Wear System and the AGE System. Being a high-speed combat unit, it is able to transform into Flight mode, a fighter-like form which flies at three times the speed of its MS mode. Its transformation systems have been restored to perfection, resulting in further improved mobility. In this form, it is capable of atmospheric entry. Aside from its speed, the Dark Hound possess a DODS Lancer, Anchor Shots and a pair of Beam Sabers for close combat.

Armaments

  • DODS Lancer
The DODS Lancer is the primary weapon of the Dark Hound. As the name suggests, it is a lance-type weapon used for stabbing into enemy units. It also forms the nose of the Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound's Flight Mode. A pair of DODS Guns are built into the sides of the DODS Lancer [1], which rapidly firing beam shots.
  • Beam Saber
A sword-like weapon that is used for close combat during battle. Like the Gundam AGE-2 Normal and its variants, two beam sabers are stored on the rear skirt armor. The Dark Hound was able to combine two beam sabers into double-bladed beam saber and uses the combined beam saber as boomerang, as was seen in the final episode.
  • Beam Vulcan
A pair of rapid-fire beam vulcans, which are used to intercept incoming missiles and enemy unit. The beam vulcans are only usable in Flight Mode.
  • Anchor Shot
A wired anchor equipped between each binder of the Dark Hound. It can be launched from the binder to restrain a enemy unit or grab onto a surface. The anchors can also direct electricity to an opponent, shocking them and electrifying their unit [2]. Each Anchor Shot can also be used as a handheld weapon and, if needed, can be used defensively by spinning the wired anchor rapidly to form a makeshift shield.

System Features

  • Flash Eye
An special equipment built into the chest of the AGE-2 Dark Hound. This equipment is used to emit a blinding flash of light in order to disorient enemies. The equipment was first used in episode 34, where AGE-2DH Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound battled against the AGE-3 Gundam AGE-3 Normal, piloted by Kio Asuno

Technology & Combat Characteristics

A next generation Gundam that is built based on the combat data of the Gundam AGE-1 and also incoporates the data of Asemu's battles in Tordia[1][2][3]. It is the second Gundam built using the AGE System, and is designed as a high-speed combat unit, able to transform into a Strider mode (also referred to as "G-Strider"), a fighter-like form which flies at three times the speed of its MS mode[3]. In this form, AGE-2 is capable of atmospheric entry[4]. The unit also has a wear system, similar to the AGE-1, which allows the operator to change the unit's configuration by swapping out an alternate set of limbs. The repulsive force propulsion technology found in the AGE-1S Gundam AGE-1 Spallow is applied to the shoulder-mounted moveable wings [5].
Aside from its speed, the AGE-2 Normal possess a Hyper DODS Rifle, a shield and beam sabers for close combat. The AGE-System installed in the mobile suit allows it to gather combat data to "evolve" the Gundam when needed. The Gundam AGE-2 Normal was later recolored white in honor ofWoolf Enneacle. In AG 151, the AGE-2 Normal suffered heavy damage in combat and had its AGE System Core recovered by the Earth Federation, while Bisidian recovered the rest of its remains and refurbished it into the AGE-2DH Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound.

Armaments

  • Hyper DODS Rifle
The basic long ranged armament of the AGE-2 Normal, developed from the DODS Rifle. It is strong enough to penetrate two mobile suits with one shot[2][3] and also forms the nose of the AGE-2's Strider Mode. It is twice as powerful as older DODS models.[3]
  • Beam Sabers
A sword like weapon that is used for close combat during battle. Like Gundam AGE-1's, Gundam AGE-2's beam sabers are strong enough to pierce and destroy the Vagan's mass-production mobile suits such as Gafran,Baqto and Dorado with a single stab. It can also emits a beam dagger from the bottom end.
  • Beam Vulcans
Basic weapons which are only usable in Strider Mode. Beam Vulcans are used to intercept enemy units or missiles while in Strider Mode.
  • Shield
A basic shield used as a defense armament for the AGE-2 Normal, providing minor protection.
  • Marker Shot
A pistol-like weapon with non-lethal ammo used for target practice.

Armaments

  • Twin DODS Cannons
The Twin DODS Cannons[3] is the primary ranged weapon of Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet. They are mounted on the red shoulder binders and can rotate in any direction, allowing the suit to shoot down enemy units without moving its arms. When required, they can be dismounted and be wielded like normal DODS Rifles.[2][4]
  • Beam Saber
A pair of beam sabers located on the rear skirt that can be used for close combat during battle.
  • Large Beam Sabers
Two large beam sabers are mounted in the red binders where the Twin DODS Cannons are stored. The red binders are capable of emitting the large beam sabers only after the DODS cannons are removed. The large sabers allow the pilot to quickly counter enemy's melee attack when there is no time to draw out its main beam sabers.
  • Calf Missiles
Four calf missile launchers are mounted at the back of the legs, the missiles fired are used for bombardment or to distract the enemies.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

After completion of the RX-104FF PenelopeAnaheim Electronics secretly developed and built an improved variant, the RX-105 Ξ Gundam, and sold it to the terrorist group ofMufti Nabiyu Erin. The Ξ Gundam features a Minovsky Craft unit similar to the Penelope but integrates it into its main frame, resulting in a sleeker design and lighter mass. Unlike Penelope, the Ξ Gundam doesn't transform but deploys a Beam Barrier by flipping its chest armor up. The Beam Barrier is a device that creates a conical barrier in front of the Ξ Gundam as it flies through the air, making it more aerodynamic and allowing it to achieve supersonic speeds in flight exceeding Mach 2. These minor changes give the Ξ Gundam an edge against Penelope in terms of performance. Its armaments are similar to the Penelope, but it has a larger shield without the built-in particle cannon that provided the Penelope better protection.

Armaments

  • 60mm Vulcan Guns
A standard armament of many Federation mobile suits is a pair of head-mounted 60mm vulcan guns. These shell-firing weapons have a high rate of fire but have little power. The vulcan guns are an offensive weapon designed to be used against small lightly armored targets such as ground combat vehicles or attack helicopters.
  • Beam Sabers
The Ξ Gundam is equipped with a pair of beam sabers for close combat. However, unlike the Penelope, the Ξ Gundam's beam sabers are stored on its backpack instead. The termination of the I-field along a solid contact surface allows the plasma to eat away at the offending material until the I-field reestablishes itself, allowing the weapon to "cut" through almost any target. Likewise, as the beam saber's I-field enclosure repels plasma, it not only keeps the blade's plasma in but also keeps plasma from another blade out allowing one beam saber to be used to block another.
  • Mega Beam Cannon
Similar to the RX-104FF Penelope, the Ξ Gundam features a pair of mega beam cannons housed in the front shoulder armor, which flip up when the cannons are fired (just as they do when the Minovsky Craft system is active). They are quite powerful, with an output equal or greater than theMSZ-010 ZZ Gundam's High Mega Cannon.
  • Missile Launcher
In order to fight against heavy armored enemies, Ξ Gundam has a pair of missile launchers. The missiles are moderately powerful self-propelling explosives that can deal significant damage to a mobile suit or battleship but are particularly effective against machines with heavy defenses against beam weapons. They are mounted in the movable elbow segments.
  • Large Missile Launcher
In order to fight against heavy armored enemies, Ξ Gundam has a pair of large missile launchers. The missiles are larger and more powerful self-propelling explosives that can deal significant damage to a mobile suit or battleship but are particularly effective against machines with heavy defenses against beam weapons. They are mounted in the movable knee segments.
  • Funnel Missiles
These are Ξ Gundam's remote weapons, similar to RX-104FF Penelope. These funnels are accurately controlled by the pilot with Newtype abilities. Unlike the standard funnels, they explode upon impact, giving the weapons their name, Funnel Missiles. They are stored in the rear skirt armor.
  • Beam Rifle
The standard ranged armament of many mobile suits is the beam rifle. The particle beam fired from a beam rifle can penetrate almost any armor that has not been treated with specific counter-measures.
  • Shield
This is a basic optional arm-mounted defense armament for many mobile suits. The shield is a thick sheet of armor designed to take severe punishment that would normally destroy a mobile suit. Since the introduction of beam weaponry, shields have been treated with an anti-beam coating allowing it to withstand several beam shots before the coating wears off. Typically, physical shields can only take so much damage before they succumb to the pressure and break.
  • Micro Missile Pod
An optional missile pod, can be mounted on the rear waist armor. It fires a micro missile salvo to bombard enemies.

Special Equipment & Features

  • Minovsky Craft Emitters
When scattered in open space or in the air, the repulsive forces between charged Minovsky particles cause them to spontaneously align into a regular cubic lattice structure called an I-field. An I-field lattice will slowly expand and scatter into space; however, if used correctly, the Ξ Gundam can obtain low altitude flight under gravity without refueling. The Minovsky Craft units are located on the rear shoulder units and lower legs.
The Psycommu System is a device connected directly into the user's (usually a Newtype) thoughts, through which the user can manipulate it by using his/her mind. The name derives from psychic and communicator. In essence, a psycommu system works by passively scanning the brainwaves of newtypes, amplifying them in order to send the brainwave signal out long distances and then translating these brainwaves into raw machine codes upon being received by the selected object with limitations. Since brainwaves are not affected by the radio interference property of Minovsky particles, at first, it was mainly used to mentally control remote weapons via Minovsky Communication, usually mounted with a single beam gun. This enabled the resurrection of BVR engagements, with bits and funnels being the first weapons able to engage targets without visual contact since the development of the Minovsky particle.

RX-104FF Penelope

RX-104FF Penelope

Technology & Combat Characteristics

Developed by Anaheim Electronics in cooperation with the Circe special force, the Penelope is a large, fifth-generation MS featuring a compact Minovsky craft flight unit. The Penelope is actually a combination of the RX-104 Odysseus Gundam and the FF (Fixed Flight) armor unit. Despite Penelope's size, it is incredibly fast. The unit's most notable trait is the Minovsky barrier which the Penelope deploys frontally when it transforms into its dragon-like mode. This form is necessary when the Penelope cruises at high speed. This barrier reduces drag from air friction against Penelope's frame, allowing it to cruise at high speed and easily break the sound barrier.
In terms of armaments, the Penelope is armed with a beam rifle, vulcan guns, beam sabers, small mega particle cannons and funnel missiles, an extremely accurate Psycommu-guided micro missile. The Penelope is a unit that greatly excels in aerial combat.

Armaments

  • Beam Rifle
The Penelope carries a custom beam rifle that, despite having a different design, has about the same power as a standard beam rifle.
  • Vulcan Guns
The Penelope houses four vulcan guns in the overhanging "head" mounted on top of the unit. The neck of this unit is articulated and has a small degree of flexibility to aim at the target.
  • Shield
The Penelope has two small shields on its arms. Each houses a beam saber and a mega particle cannon.
  • Mega Particle Cannons
Two additional mega-particle cannons are mounted on the the arm shield units. When combined with the shoulder mounted cannons, the power of the four cannons surpasses that of the High Mega Cannon of the MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam.
  • Beam Saber\
The Penelope has 2 beam sabers, one in each forearm shield from where the blade is emitted from.
  • Funnel Missiles
  • File:Funnel Missile.JPG
These funnels are accurately controlled by the pilot via psycommu. Unlike a standard funnel, they explode upon impact, giving the weapons their name. They are launched from the shoulders and front skirt armor.
